Full-time | Hybrid, Berlin | Entry to Mid-level
About edyfi
edyfi is a data and analytics company with a growing product side. We work with companies across energy, real estate, and infrastructure to help them build the data foundations, reporting tools, and decision-support systems they need to operate more effectively.
In addition to our client work, we are developing the edyfi platform, a real estate software platform that models buildings, assets, and
energy performance in a unified data environment. The BI Analyst hired into this role will contribute to both sides of the business:
client-facing analytics engagements and the ongoing development of the edyfi platform itself.
We are a small, focused team. The work is substantive, the clients are real, and the contribution of each team member is directly visible.
The Role
We are looking for a BI Analyst to join the edyfi team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a broad and important role within the company, covering client analytics delivery as well as internal platform reporting and data operations.
The successful candidate will work across a range of projects, building dashboards, financial reports, and data pipelines that serve both external clients and the edyfi platform team. A significant portion of early work will involve a data strategy engagement with a German energy company, covering areas such as EV charging infrastructure analytics, electricity pricing visualisation, and financial modelling. Alongside this, the analyst will support the development of reporting and data workflows within the edyfi platform.
This is a role that rewards intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn. Candidates who do not yet have experience across all tools and domains listed below are encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate strong analytical foundations and a genuine motivation to develop within a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI for both client-facing and internal use, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and usability
- Write and maintain SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, transform, and model data for reporting purposes
- Work with data stored in Azure Blob Storage and support data movement and transformation workflows using Azure Data Factory
- Connect to and integrate data from third-party APIs, including energy market, financial, and property-related systems
- Build and maintain analytical models in Excel, including financial models, ROI calculations, unit economics, and scenario analyses
- Support the development of data structures and reporting layers within the edyfi platform for the property sector
- Collaborate directly with clients and internal stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into analytical outputs
- Communicate findings and present data outputs confidently in both German and English, in written and verbal formats
- Contribute to data quality processes, including identifying and resolving inconsistencies in source data
Tools and Technologies
The following tools form the core of the edyfi working environment. Candidates are not expected to have experience with every item
listed, and structured learning support will be provided where needed.
- Power BI, including DAX and Power Query
- Snowflake and SQL for data querying and modelling
- Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including financial modelling and structured analysis
- Microsoft Azure, including Blob Storage, Data Factory and Synapse Analytics
- REST API integration for data extraction and automation
- Python or a comparable scripting language (desirable but not required)
- Git for version control of queries, scripts, and models
Skills and Experience
We are looking for the following qualities and capabilities. Some may be demonstrated through work experience, others through
academic background, personal projects, or a clear and credible willingness to develop them.
- Full professional fluency in German and English, both written and spoken. This is a firm requirement given the nature of our client base and internal team communication.
- A solid foundation in analytical thinking, with the ability to approach data problems methodically and draw conclusions that are meaningful to a non-technical audience
- Experience with, or a strong understanding of, business intelligence and data visualisation principles
- Comfort working with incomplete, inconsistent, or poorly structured data, and the judgement to handle it appropriately
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams with different timelines and stakeholders
- A collaborative and professional working style, with the confidence to communicate clearly and ask the right questions
- An openness to feedback and a genuine interest in continuous development
Desirable Background
- Prior exposure to the energy, cleantech, real estate, or financial services sectors
- Experience with investment reporting, fund performance tracking, or similar financial analytical outputs
- Familiarity with digital twin concepts or property data platforms
- Knowledge of additional BI or data tools such as dbt, Metabase, or Looker
- Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing analytics environment
What We Offer
- A full-time, permanent position with meaningful work from the outset
- Exposure to a diverse range of industries, clients, and analytical challenges
- A hybrid working arrangement based in Berlin, with flexibility built into how we work
- A collaborative and professional team environment where contribution is recognised
- A salary that is honest and appropriate for the stage of the company, discussed transparently during the recruitment process
- Real scope for professional growth as both the consultancy and the edyfi platform continue to develop
