About edyfi

edyfi is a data and analytics company with a growing product side. We work with companies across energy, real estate, and infrastructure to help them build the data foundations, reporting tools, and decision-support systems they need to operate more effectively.

In addition to our client work, we are developing the edyfi platform, a real estate software platform that models buildings, assets, and
energy performance in a unified data environment. The BI Analyst hired into this role will contribute to both sides of the business:
client-facing analytics engagements and the ongoing development of the edyfi platform itself.

We are a small, focused team. The work is substantive, the clients are real, and the contribution of each team member is directly visible.

The Role

We are looking for a Rollout Operations Manager to own the operational engine that turns edyfi’s deployment plan into reality. Reporting to the CEO, you will take responsibility for everything around the technical work of a rollout: the schedule, the suppliers, property access, the paperwork, the budget, and the reporting. Where our IoT Solutions Engineer owns what gets installed and how, you own the coordination that holds it all together.

Today the CEO carries much of this alongside running commercial and operations. As we scale towards 85 properties by the end of 2026, the coordination load grows beyond what one person can hold, and you become the person who absorbs it.

This is a senior operational role rather than a junior coordinating one. You will run multiple parallel rollouts involving installers, property managers, retailers, and an internal technical team, and you will need to be comfortable making decisions, owning a budget, and reporting status directly to the CEO. It is a role that rewards strong organisation and the confidence to keep many moving parts aligned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run the rollout programme across the Greenman portfolio, targeting 85 assets by the end of 2026
  • Build and maintain the master deployment schedule, sequencing installations, managing dependencies, and flagging risks before they become blockers
  • Own property-by-property project plans, covering site access, scope, schedule, sign-off, and handover
  • Run regular status reviews with the CEO and report rollout progress against the 2026 milestones
  • Manage purchase orders, invoicing, and vendor payments for hardware suppliers and installers, keeping them running smoothly once they have been qualified and contracted
  • Track hardware procurement against the rollout schedule and flag lead-time risk early
  • Maintain supplier and installer records, contracts, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate site access with property managers, tenants, and grocery retailer operations teams
  • Act as the day-to-day operational contact for the Kaufland pilot and other external customer rollouts
  • Handle the non-technical side of installer relationships, including scheduling, payments, and performance tracking
  • Translate between technical and commercial stakeholders, fluently enough to coordinate effectively without needing deep technical expertise yourself
  • Own the rollout budget and report variance against plan
  • Support the CEO on operational tasks beyond the rollout itself, such as vendor onboarding, supplier audits, and country-specific compliance and registration
  • Build the playbooks, templates, and reporting cadences that allow edyfi to run rollouts efficiently as we scale into more countries and customers
Tools and Technologies

The following form the core of the technical environment for this role. Candidates are not expected to have deep experience with every item listed, and structured learning support will be provided where needed.

  • Building and automation protocols, including Modbus and BACnet
  • At least one wireless protocol, such as LoRaWAN, Zigbee, or cellular IoT (M-Bus is an advantage)
  • Sensor and gateway hardware across the energy, HVAC, refrigeration, and footfall domains
  • Building Management System integration on commercial platforms
  • Gateway configuration and connectivity management
  • Technical documentation for playbooks and commissioning checklists
Skills and Experience

We are looking for the following qualities and capabilities, whether demonstrated through direct experience or a clear and credible ability to bring them to the role.

  • At least five years in operational or project management roles, across real estate, retail rollouts, construction, facilities, or B2B hardware deployment, with multi-site programme experience mattering more than industry pedigree
  • A track record of running rollouts across multiple sites or countries, including managing a schedule of twenty or more sites in parallel, keeping it on budget, and reporting clearly to leadership
  • Strong project management discipline; PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent qualifications are welcome but not required, as what matters is that you genuinely run projects rather than simply attend meetings about them
  • Confidence working with suppliers, contracts, and budgets, comfortable reading a purchase order, spotting a missing line item, chasing an overdue invoice, and addressing a slipping delivery directly
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, able to discuss access with a property manager, budget with a finance lead, and scheduling with an electrician, and to translate between all three
  • Full professional fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, as you will work directly with German installers, property managers, and retailers
  • A Berlin base, or a willingness to relocate, as this is a hybrid role with regular office time
Desirable Background
  • Experience in commercial real estate, retail rollouts, or PropTech
  • Familiarity with IoT or building systems deployment, sufficient to coordinate technical conversations rather than to lead them
  • Polish or French language skills, supporting our expansion into those markets
  • Experience working with grocery retailers, supermarket chains, or large multi-site property portfolios
  • Prior early-stage or scale-up experience, having built operational infrastructure from scratch before
What We Offer
  • A genuine rollout to execute rather than a plan to draft; by the end of 2026 you will have personally coordinated deployments across 85 properties, with pilots running in parallel
  • The autonomy and impact of being one of edyfi’s first ten hires — shaping the operational function, defining the playbook, and in time building a team — without the existential risk of a typical seed-stage startup, given our position within the established Greenman Group
  • The opportunity to define the rollout playbook, supplier processes, reporting cadences, and coordination patterns from the outset
  • Work that translates directly into measurable energy savings, ESG reporting, and revenue
  • Real scope for professional growth as the team scales from a handful of people towards around twenty across 2026 to 2028
  • A hybrid working arrangement based in Berlin, with travel built into the nature of the role
How to Apply

Interested candidates are invited to send a short note explaining what interests you about the role, together with a CV or LinkedIn profile, to careers@edyfi.com. There is no need for a cover letter; we would rather hear about one or two specific rollouts or programmes you have run.

The process from there is straightforward: an initial conversation with the CEO (around 30 minutes), an operational deep-dive with the CEO (60 to 90 minutes) walking through a real rollout scenario and how you would run it, an on-site visit in Berlin to meet the team and walk through a sample property, and finally reference calls and an offer.

edyfi is an equal opportunity employer. We hire on the basis of capability and fit, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. All applications will receive a response.
